In March we found out we were having a baby and we both cannot wait. I am due November 21. It has been a lot of fun trying to pick out names and deciding what the babies room will be if it’s a boy or a girl. We find out June 24 what we are having and we can’t wait. I told Brett once we find out what it is I am going straight to Baby Gap!!
I graduated with a degree in Community Health the end of April. It is such a great feeling to be done and not have to worry about school. This summer I am working on my internship at WIC. I am at the clinic in Payson so it has been nice to go have lunch at my grandparents everyday! I will be working there until the end of July then I will have to come up with some new hobbies until the baby comes. Brett has been going to school this summer. He is been working really hard and has done really well in all of his classes. It will be very nice to have him graduate next April!
This past week we were able to go to Cabo San Lucas Mexico with the Clarke family! We had a wonderful time!! We were able to spend the whole week relaxing on the beach and eating amazing food! We left Thursday afternoon because Brett had class on Friday. In the airport I bought 2 bottles of vanilla to take home. When we got to Phoenix they took my vanilla! I was not very happy about it. I hope someone is at least enjoying it and it wasn’t just thrown away!!

I didn’t realize that it has been over 4 months since I have updated this so I figured today, being a Sunday was the perfect day to do it!
The last 4 months have been filled with school, projects, trips, and birthdays! Here is just a list of a few things:
-In October Brett turned 25. I made him a homemade german chocolate cake for his birthday! We also went to Nebraska and watched a football game! -In November we went to Nebraska for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun being with the Clarke family. -In December we finished off the semester and headed to Denver for Christmas. It was fun to have the whole family all together for more than a day and not be going crazy with weddings!
We are now back in Orem, Utah and settled back in school. We are looking forward to this semester because it is my last! YAY! I’ll be finished with classes in April and then I will intern during the summer. For my internship I will be working with WIC. It should be a lot of fun and a great learning experience.

Gus and Ernie update:
They are doing great! I’m learning more and more that Gus thinks he owns everything and everyone in the house. For such a little dog he can take up a lot of room. You should see him on the couch. He can really spread out! It’s a good thing Ernie is such an easy going dog or there would be issues!

He knows how to unzip the love sac! Impressive right? So the other day I was getting ready and I went to go find out what Gus was doing. Ernie we don’t worry about because he just lays there but Gus is a mischievous little puppy. So I was yelling his name trying to get him to come to me when I heard some rustling behind me. I turned around, and I saw movement in the love sac. He was in it. I don’t think he realized how to get out on his own! He does like to hide in the bed why not the love sac!! I did take pictures. don’t worry!!

It was so much fun!! Brett surprised me by taking me to Lake Las Vegas where we stayed at the Ritz Carlton. It was the perfect place because it was just relaxing and the hotel was so nice! We shared the hotel with UNICO nation which is a large group of italians. It was pretty entertaining for us! I think they were all from New York.
We got there Friday night and walked around the little village they have there. Saturday we woke up and went to IHOP. I finally was able to get the pancakes that I have been craving while being on this diet of ours! Then we went back to the hotel and went and worked out at the gym and went to the pool! It was so hot so it was the perfect cool off. We were able to get lunch down by the pool! I felt like I was back in Cabo but without the quesadillas. We then went and got ready and drove down to the strip. We walked around and went to dinner at Mon Ami Gabi which is a french restaurant at the Paris hotel. It was really yummy. Then we went to see the Cirque Du Soleil show ‘O.’ The stage was a gigantic pool and there was synchronized swimming and people jumping into the pool doing flips. It was so much fun. They had a pair of clowns that would come out occasionally and do a skit. There was one skit where one of the clowns started doing this little dance. Brett leaned over and was like “Annie that is you.” I started laughing so hard I couldn’t stop. If any one knows me well they know how I dance! I just cracked up!! It really was a wonderful night! Sunday we got up late and drove home! It really was a great weekend get away!! Happy Anniversary to us!!!
Also, Scott was nice enough to stay with the dogs while we were gone. They love their uncle Scott! thank you so much!

So I’ve decided since I have time this morning I would quickly do an update. Our summer hasn’t been too exciting because we have been in school but it is summer so we have been making the most of it. The first block of classes ended the 24th of June and the second started up the next day. We have been loving our classes. It has hindered some vacation plans but school is our first priority and we can play on the weekends. We have four more weeks of this block and then we have a two week break. Our classes are going well. We are taking an Ethics and Values class together so it’s been fun because we can help each other.
In June Brett and I took a trip to Denver to visit my family for Fathers Day. It was so fun to see everyone. We weren’t expecting to see the whole family but we were all there (minus Brandon). I even got to see my new nephew Caden. They weren’t going to stay out there for very long but changed their flight plans. He is so cute! We are going back next month to visit again. It should be a fun trip!!
For the 4th of July Brett and I took our friends Joe and Jocelyn with us to Omaha. It was a lot of fun. The 14 hour drive did not seem as long or as bad with them in the car. They were great company to have! While we were in Omaha we went to the Royals game at Rosenblatt Stadium. It started pouring on us and we had to run underneath the bleachers. They canceled the baseball game but luckily the rain stopped so we were able to watch the fireworks show afterwards. For the 4th we went out to the lake and spent the day with Brett’s family. He always looks forward to this. The weather was not too hot and we were able to relax, go boating, and eat lots of food. It was the perfect day. At night, the neighbors started their fireworks and they were amazing. They went on for about a half hour. It’s neat at the lake because there are fireworks going off all around you! We left sunday and drove home. It really was a wonderful weekend and we are excited to go back to Omaha soon! Brett’s already planning the agenda for when we’ll be back...
Ernie and Gus update: While we were in Omaha we left them at a kennel. I was worried because Gus is pretty sheltered. He also barks at everyone. He’s got to be this little protector. But they said he did wonderfully and that they are the most wonderful pair of dogs!! I was so proud. Now I won’t be as worried next time we leave them.
That’s pretty much all we have been up to in the past couple months. August should be a lot more entertaining. There will be anniversaries, weddings, visitors, and trips! I am counting down the days!! Happy July!

Brett went up into the attic and couldn’t find anything but he decided we would wait until the next day to really investigate because it was getting really late. Sunday he went into the attic where he found that our fan for the air conditioner was not hooked up right so we had to turn the air conditioner completely off so that there wouldn’t be anymore damage.
On Wednesday some guys came out to fix the problem, which they did but when the bigger of the two men went up there he slipped and fell through the dry wall and now we have a lovely little hole in our bedroom! Luckily we were able to laugh about it and they are going to be fixing it this next week!

I am so horrible at it, but I promise I will try this summer.
The last time that I blogged was in january (sad). Brett and I have had some fun times these past few months. We finished a semester and started a new one, We’ve been on some road trips, met some wonderful people, our extended families have gotten bigger, and we got callings in our ward!
School has been going wonderfully for the both of us. It feels good to be taking classes that will get us to our ultimate goal of graduation! We are both loving our classes! It’s interesting because our majors are complete opposite. One is health and the other is construction! I guess it’s a good way to learn more and we are. I have become a lot more health conscience and I think it’s starting to drive Brett crazy! I was able to figure out a way to graduate next April so I have only three semesters left of school! I am so excited. Brett is pluggin’ along and will be done soon after me! It’s nice to see the end of something that feels like it has taken forever to do! We are enjoying ourselves while it lasts though because it will be done sooner than we think!!
I finally convinced Brett to get some bikes! I need to post some pictures. But they are so much fun! It will be fun this summer to ride them to school since we live so close and to go on bike rides, which I love!!
Brett is on two softball teams. One in Orem and one in Spanish Fork. It’s really fun to watch him play because he loves it. He becomes a kid in a candy store!! It’s wonderful because there are other guys on the team with wives and they all come and we have matching shirts. Brett put the one in Spanish Fork together and their names are the Whammies. The one in Orem the baseball diamonds are right down the street and they are called the Dragons. Our neighbor invited him to play on it and since he’s playing on the SF team too it was a trade!!
Also....we LOVE our neighborhood!! The location is wonderful, the church is right across the street, the people are so nice, and our neighbors are a blast!! We hang out with them almost everyday! We are so happy about where we live!! I can go out and play catch in the yard with the dogs and Brett has plenty of projects that he can work on!! We are just so happy to be living where we do! If anyone would like to come visit they are more than welcome. We love visitors and having people over!
The last thing....(I’m really getting caught up on this)..Brett and I were just called as the 8B primary teachers for our ward. It has been so much fun because we get to teach together. Brett taught the first week and I taught last week. The kids are so well behaved and so excited to learn. We also get to go to their baptisms! So fun!! This is going to be a wonderful calling for us!!
Our little family really has been doing wonderfully!! Gus and Ernie are a blast and we love having them around. Gus is now 12 pounds and growing! They keep us very entertained and they are great friends. Sleeping arrangements might have to change because Gus is a cuddler and I wake up and he is right next to me! I even move him and he finds his way back! It really wouldn’t be the same without both of them!
Well I hope I’ve included everything that’s been going on so far in our lives. We really have just been enjoying each day! Have a wonderful memorial weekend!!
So I have not done very well on my updates of our little family but it is early and everyone is asleep so I am finally getting to it. The last month has been very busy for us with the move, the holidays, and our new addition to the family.
We moved in the middle of December to Orem in a nice town home. We have loved living here as we are close to pretty much everything. The church is across the street, school is less than 5 minutes away, and the mall and all of our favorite eating places are all right here. It has really been wonderful. With the help of many friends we were able to get all moved from our third story apartment in Provo. We were all organized in less than a week in the house. (We really do make a pretty good team) We finally finished decorating the house and Brett has done all of the projects that he can. He says the next thing to do is to get a ping pong table for the garage but we’ll see what happens.. We are really excited about living here and it is becoming more like home each day.
Our address is: 826 South 1840 West
Orem, UT 84058
For our Christmas vacation we first made a stop in Colorado for my brother Shane’s wedding. It was wonderful to be home and see the family for just a couple of days. The wedding turned out beautifully and we were so glad that we made it. (Friday night there was a terrible storm in Utah and we never thought we would get out of that airport)
We spent Christmas and New Years in Omaha with Brett’s family. We had a really nice time as we were able to relax, sleep in, see the sites, and eat really yummy food. I could not have asked for a better first Christmas with Brett.
While we were in Omaha we were looking up different types of dogs to see what we would get in the future. (key word: FUTURE). As we were looking through all these pictures of cute little puppies I started to really want one. Those who know me should realize that I have never been a dog person. Growing up I said that I would never have one in my house and they would stay outside if my husband did want one. Of course then I met Brett fell in love with him and Ernie and I just could not go back! Anyways long story short we found a puppy from a breeder in Payson, Utah and we were able to pick him up a week after we got home. He is a shih tzu-poodle mix (a shihpoo) and his name is Angus Zigmier,“Gus” for short. When we got him he was 7 weeks old and 1.5 pounds. Gus is now 9 weeks old and 4 pounds. He can run up the stairs, drink and eat out of his bowls, and he even rings the bell on the door to go outside. Gus follows Ernie everywhere and loves to bother him but Ernie has done wonderfully with him. Gus has been so much fun to have around and Ernie loves having a friend to play with.

It seems painfully evident that these treat or treaters lobbied aggressively behind the scenes to change the trick or treating laws in their favor so that they could unfairly compete to amass such a large amount of candy. Although these laws still applied to everyone, other trick or treaters did not take advantage of these opportunities as they had chosen to stop to eat too much candy along the way and had grown too fat to keep up with their competitors. Those trick or treaters that delayed their immediate gratification to eat their candy as they got it and then worked much longer hours to accumulate their candy obviously had a unfair advantage. The Council for the Unfair Treatment of Fat Trick or Treaters then raised enough capital to lobby the government to tighten up the loop holes in the candy distribution system. Now, fairness has returned to candy gathering and everyone will receive the same amount of candy (albeit much less in total for everyone but fair nevertheless because now no one gets more than anyone else regardless of how hard they work:-)
